The first real bricks
LEGO DUPLO Caring for Animals at the Farm
LEGO
DUPLO is graded 2+ and it is the bridge between giant toddler blocks and actual LEGO. This set is bought for the animals rather than the bricks: at two, the build takes four minutes and the farm game that follows takes an hour. It connects to every other DUPLO set, so it is a start rather than a dead end.

Age grade, battery and assembly wording are quoted from LEGO’s own product listing, read on September 7, 2026. The manufacturer’s exact words: “2+ years”. Noise and mess are our reading, not a measurement — we have not played with this.
What it gets right
- Published age grade of 2+, and DUPLO bricks are sized for the small-parts rule at that age
- Animal figures give a two-year-old something to do with the build once it is built, which plain bricks do not
- Connects to every other DUPLO set, so it is a start rather than a dead end
What it doesn’t
- A themed set, so it is a smaller pile of bricks than a plain brick box at the same price
- The build itself takes minutes; the play value is entirely in the figures
How loud
No electronics. Bricks and animal figures, and whatever voices come with them.
How much mess
Medium pieces. They scatter, but they are big enough to find and nothing disappears into a rug.
Skip this if…
…you want raw building volume. A plain box of DUPLO bricks gives more construction per dollar — this set is bought for the animals, and you should want the animals.
Price checked Sep 8, 2026. Toy prices move constantly, especially in December — Amazon’s price at checkout is the one that counts.
